Mother’s Nature

£180.00

I began this piece quite entranced with the mother elephant’s eye and what I felt was the love and tenderness expressed in the apparent embrace of her trunk around her young calf. While I don’t often draw with graphite pencil alone - as I have here - when I do, I always seek to convey form with each mark.  In this piece, I also sought to convey tenderness and the strength of the bond between the mother and her young.

Pencil on paper

Unframed - 42cm x 29.7cm (16.5 x 11.75 inches)
Framed - 53cm x 43cm (20.75 x 17 inches)

This artwork is framed behind non-reflective glazing with a white mount and a pale frame, strung and ready to hang in its new home.
