Drawing from nature
Original paintings, prints and drawings — shaped by landscape, light and the restless energy of the sea.
About the work
Painting has been an essential part of me for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I took the plunge and gave up the day job to focus on it fully — and I haven't looked back.
Most recently, I've rediscovered a deep passion for drawing, especially the ocean. Splashy, expressive waves that feel alive on the page.
My art helps me breathe. I'd be quietly delighted if something here felt like a breath of fresh air — or a gasp of ozone after a stormy night at sea.

The Sea Wall Collection at the Geo Café
There’s a particular pleasure in spotting blades of granite in the shallows as the incoming tide gathers momentum and begins to build its power, roaring as it smashes and splashes onto the ancient coastline it’s gradually eroding as though it intends to ultimately pound the rocks below the sands. These natural groynes are, for me, an absolute delight to draw, but never more so than when they are being drenched by the breaking waves above.
