This work is all about the tiger’s stare. Using minimal dip-pen ink strokes to depict the prowling animal’s face, I wanted to convey his spirit and power without the distraction of detail beyond alluding to typical markings in his coat, and then focusing on building depth and realism into the focus of his eyes. It’s a technique I’ve not tried before, but will certainly apply again as I enjoyed it so much!
