Once a familiar garden visitor, and now, a source of much excitement when the distinctive blue and peachy-orange plumage of the nuthatch is seen creeping head-first (of course!) down a branch, in this instance eyeing up our larch cones in the hope of snaffling up a quick snack. I’ve tried to capture some of the bird’s inherent curiosity and speed. They don’t hang around!
